Goodbye Adelaide

The last few days in Adelaide have been memorable and I felt a little heavy hearted to leave the city which I’ve called home for the last 2 years. Despite all the things in Malaysia that I missed while I was there, from the mamak food to the “char kuey tiao” and all the happening (and congested) lifestyles in the Klang Valley, Adelaide gave me something else that I couldn’t find in Malaysia like the cool weather, the clean and tidy streets to the laid back lifestyle of the Australian outback.

In the beginning, it took some effort to adapt to the new Aussie lifestyle that is rather different from Malaysia, but once passed this stage, life in Adelaide can be just as enjoyable as back home if not better. There will be many things in Adelaide that I’ll miss and it just seems so hard to name one that I’ll miss most. So I decided to list all of them alphabetically:

Adelaide Metro, Advertiser (Newspaper), Aldinga Beach
Barossa Valley, BBQ, Botanic Garden
Cooper’s, Convention Center
Elephant Walk
Festival Center, Free Bus, Friends
Glenelg, Gambier (Mt.)
Henley Beach
Internet (1.5mbps Broadband)
Koala, Kangaroo
Lofty (Mt.)
Marion, McLaren Vale, Murray River
North Adelaide, Normanville
O-Bahn, O’Connell St.
Port Adelaide, Penguin, Pancake House, People
Rundle Mall, Royal Adelaide Show
Semaphore, Skycity, Spuds
Tea Tree, Tram, Torrens River
University of Adelaide
Victor Harbour, Victoria Square
Windy Point, Whispering Wall, Wines, Whales
Zzz (Sleep)

Well, I tried to think of something for every alphabet, and these are all that came out of my mind now (sadly some were just left blank). I guess this is Adelaide for me… Thank you for all the good times and the not-so-good times… Goodbye Adelaide. And may we meet again some time in the future.
