Looks like the media technology industry has learned the value of having a common standard. The battle between Blu-ray and HD-DVD for supremacy as the next-generation of storage media is about to reach a peaceful ending. LG has presented a “Super Multi Blue” drive at the recent CeBIT 2007 that could end the media format battle. [Source: CDRinfo]
The LG GGW-H10N drive would be the first Blu-ray burner and a HD-DVD ROM drive in one. Although it is not a HD-DVD burner, I believe it is just a matter of time and some licensing issues before we could have a “Super Multi Blue-HD”. Just like how we have the DVD+ and DVD- format being supported today. If only we could have a similar peaceful ending to many unnecessary battles that are being fought in the world today.
