I’ve always had a thing for cap-less USB drives. The Transcend JetFlash V10 is one nicely designed cap-less USB drive. It slides its USB port out from its body frame when required and can be slide back in for proper storage.
Comparison of Transcend JetFlash V10 with the Kingmax Super Stick
It’s an average sized USB drive that looks much bigger when compared to the smallest – the Kingmax Super Stick. However, the physical size of the drive is still nicely sized, as it would not obstruct the other USB ports above/below or beside it when plugged into the PC.
The data transfer performance is of the JetFlash V10 USB drive is also slightly better when compared to the Kingmax Super Stick. A test on SiSoftware Sandra XI 2MB files test benchmark gives a pretty good read speed of 19934 kB/sec and an average write speed of 2219 kB/sec. About 25% faster in read speed and 20% faster write speed when compared with the Kingmax Super Stick.
Overall, its a good cap-less USB drive with a 2GB capacity to meet most of our portable storage needs and at a price that is rather affordable. Perhaps I shall end this review with a picture of the 2GB Transcend JetFlash V10 to savor.
(Note: Transcend color coded its JetFlash USB drives according to its storage capacity. E.g. 1GB = Blue, 2GB = Red, 4GB = White, 8GB = Black)
